Providing the “other necessities” for homeless children and their parents

Did you know that…

More than 600,000 Americans are currently homeless?
37% of our nation’s homeless people are families with young children?
Almost 44% of the homeless are employed but do not make enough to keep a roof over their head?
A sudden accident, medical crisis, or missed paycheck could result in many more Americans losing their homes?

Once limited to our major cities, the incidence of homelessness is rapidly increasing and spreading to communities all across our land. For homeless persons, having something to eat and a safe place to sleep are the top priorities in life.

But, then come other problems and necessities...
  • Diapers for their babies.
  • Shampoo, combs and brushes for their older children.
  • Soap and personal hygiene items for their teens and themselves.

Although food kitchens and homeless shelters are doing all they can to feed and house the homeless, there are so many “non-basic necessities” they simply can’t provide. Your Grandmother’s Cupboard was started as a means of filling those needs.

Your Grandmother’s Cupboard is a non-profit organization established by people who recognize the problem and established the Cupboard to help homeless children and their parents. They envisioned it as a means of providing homeless people with common items they need to maintain good health and hygiene but often can’t afford
