Your Grandmother's Cupboard
Providing the “other necessities” for homeless children and their parents

Volunteers at Your Grandmother’s Cupboard fill individual boxes with these “other necessities” according to the age and sex of the recipients. Boxes are designated for Infants, Children, and Adults and then distributed at local soup kitchens and homeless shelters.

How you can help

While the boxes are free to those who need them, Your Grandmother’s Cupboard depends on donations to provide the items they contain. You can help fill a box for a homeless neighbor in any of these ways:
  • You can make a monetary gift
  • You can donate your time
  • You can contribute supplies

Some of the items needed to fill our boxes include:
  • Baby wipes (for infants and children)
  • Baby lotion and baby powder
  • A&D ointment (for infants)
  • Teething rings/pacifiers (for infants)
  • Plastic cups and plastic baby bottles (for infants and toddlers)
  • Coloring books (for young children)
  • Puzzle books and pencils (for older children)
  • Toothpaste and toothbrushes
  • Combs and brushes
  • Deodorant and shampoo
  • Bars of soap and washcloths
  • Emory boards
  • Small packages of Q-Tips
  • Sanitary hygiene products
  • Disposable razors

Whatever support you can provide will be greatly appreciated and will help make life a little more bearable for a homeless family and their children.
